Sukup Manufacturing Co. Celebrates 60 Years
Jun 12, 2023
Today on June 12, a flag will be flown over the US Capitol in honor of the Sukup 60th anniversary.
What started as an idea more than 60 years ago, is a thriving agricultural business today. Sukup Manufacturing Co. is marking six decades in operation on the day co-founder Eugene Sukup applied for the Stirway © Stirring Machine Patent. He was issued the patent two years later.
Eugene and his wife Mary co-founded the company in 1963 in Sheffield, Iowa. It has remained in the same location as corporate headquarters. Over the years, company leaders have added Manly, Hampton, and Clear Lake sites. There’s an office staffed in Ames.
Steve Sukup, President & CEO, says innovation is part of the company’s identity.
“Sukup is known for understanding the needs of the agriculture industry. We also relentlessly pursue innovative solutions to effectively handle those needs.”
To date, three generations of the Sukup family are involved in the day-to-day manufacturing facility operations.
“We remain family owned and operated. We support the keys to success on which our company was founded; our strong dealer network, world-class manufacturing, engineering solutions, and a responsive attitude to customer service.”
2023 marked the opening of the company’s dryer line facility in Clear Lake, Iowa. The expansion is meant to meet a growing demand for dryers.
Throughout the year, there have been opportunities to celebrate the 60th with employees, as well as special projects in the works honor the manufacturing work that continues to impact the agricultural world.
