Sukup Manufacturing Co. Sponsors Iowa Horse in 148th Kentucky Derby
Jun 2, 2022
Donegal Racing’s Mo Donegal and jockey Irad Ortiz will be sporting the familiar green Sukup logos at the 148th Kentucky Derby this Saturday, May 7th.
Steve Sukup, President and CEO, isn’t just passionate about agriculture; he has a heart for horses as well. That’s just one reason the company is a sponsor for the upcoming mile and a quarter running.
“We had an opportunity to bring #TeamSukup into Churchill Downs and are thrilled that jockey Irad Ortiz will be wearing our Sukup logo. We are excited about this historic race and the opportunity to support such an iconic sporting event.”
Jerry Crawford, CEO of Des Moines-based Donegal Racing, describes Mo Donegal as agile and athletic and believes that the horse is “well-suited” for the Kentucky Do.
Be sure to look for Mo Donegal and the familiar Sukup name this Saturday. Post time is 6:57 p.m.(EDT).
Sukup acknowledges the impact of this on the company that already has a global footprint.
“It’s quite an opportunity to have our brand reach and impact different markets on an international platform.”
More than 15 million people worldwide are expected to watch the event.
