Sukup Unveils New Walking Path

If you have driven past Sukup Manufacturing Co. throughout breaks or lunch time, you may have noticed groups of individuals spending their time enjoying the sunshine and nice company while walking laps around the parking lot. While we love that our team chooses to spend their free time outside with each other, we wanted to improve the experience. Employees working to prioritize their health and wellness can now hit the pavement with a brand new walking path.

Team members gathered with their friends and colleagues, and our special guest, the Iowa State University Marching Band for the first official walk on the walking path. CEO Steve Sukup and CAO & General Counsel Emily Schmitt kicked off the walk with a short dedication. Emily stated, “We really wanted to do something to improve the facilities and benefit all of you. We are excited to get out on this inaugural walk on this walking path. Let us be with each other along this path of our lives!” The Iowa State Marching Band led the way with their well-coordinated dance moves, the great music, and in our opinion a chant that we think should be incorporated into their game day rotation, “We love Sukup!”

It is a priority for the company to ensure that our team has access to everything they need to help stay healthy and happy. The onsite health clinic was added to the facility five years ago and has been an amazing amenity that provides convenient and more affordable healthcare to all our employees. In honor of Sukup Manufacturing Co.’s 60^th Anniversary we wanted to add to the health care features, and the walking path was a perfect fit!
